The Level One Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Program will give you the necessary tools to deepen your yoga and meditation practice as well as share these powerful and sacred teachings with others.
This program is led by Shama Kaur, a Kundalini Yoga Lead Trainer who has lived, trained and worked in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Asia as well as Europe and the Arab World. She has delivered over 10 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Programs over the last 10 years, training hundreds of students across the world to become teachers. Formally educated at both McGill University and the King’s College London, Shama Kaur is a savvy entrepreneur and the founder of the YallaYoga School in Egypt.

Shama Kaur
Central Coast, Australia
Shama Kaur is Egypt’s first Kundalini Yoga LEAD Trainer. Her name means ‘the one who shines the light of her inner soul’. She completed her training at Kundalini Research Institute in New Mexico, USA in 2012. Ever since, she been teaching kundalini yoga classes, workshops and delivering teacher trainings in Egypt and the Middle East, having tained over 150 students and delivering 9 teacher training programs. She is also the founder of YallaYoga in Cairo, Egypt. Shama is currently studying Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sydney Australia. She has a passion for music and art which she often integrates in her classes and workshops.
Shiv Charan Singh
Lisbon, Portugal
Shiv Charan Singh is a distinguished Kundalini Yoga teacher and the founder of the Karam Kriya School. He is celebrated for his deep expertise in Kundalini Yoga and his innovative approach to integrating ancient teachings with contemporary life. His work at the Karam Kriya School focuses on the practical application of yogic principles for personal and societal transformation. Known for his clarity in teaching and his ability to bridge spiritual wisdom with everyday practices, Shiv Charan Singh has inspired many to explore and deepen their practice of Kundalini Yoga.
Inderjot Kaur
Guadalajara, Mexico
Born in México City and partially raised in the US, she began her Hatha yoga practice at age 15. Later she came in touch with Kundalini Yoga and fell in love immediately; and on her third class she decided to become a certified teacher and guide people to the experience of well-being that for her united both the physical and spiritual paths. Through these years she has worked towards bringing the healing experience of Kundalini Yoga to all types of addiction institutions.
Nirvair Singh
Los Angeles, USA
Nirvair Singh Khalsa began studying with Yogi Bhajan in 1971. He is the former CEO and President of The Kundalini Research Institute, the home of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®. He is a retired University Instructor at the University of Alaska Anchorage where he taught classes in Kundalini Yoga for 31 years. He has also taught classes, workshops and trainings throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, including the Level One Immersion offered yearly in Espanola, NM. He is a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 certified teacher trainer. He lives with his wife of 40 years, Nirvair Kaur, in Tesuque New Mexico.
Siri Neel Kaur
New Mexico, USA
Siri Neel is a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer. She began practicing yoga since 1968 and teaching since 1970. She teaches classes with people from ages 3-90. Siri Neel currently lives in Espanola, New Mexico. She lovingly travels to New Cumberland to share her wisdom and yogic expertise. She has been teaching trainings for the 200 hr. Kundalini Yoga Trainings and Level 2s. She is also a Shamanic healer.
Amrit Singh

Amrit Singh Khalsa is a Kundalini Yoga Trainer and the former CEO of the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI). Hailing from the USA, Amrit has been teaching Kundalini Yoga classes, workshops, and teacher trainings for over two decades. His expertise has touched students worldwide, offering them the transformative power of Kundalini Yoga through his extensive knowledge and commitment. During his time at KRI, Amrit played a pivotal role in shaping the institute’s global outreach, ensuring the integrity and expansion of Kundalini Yoga teachings.
ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
This is a 220-hour course, which includes 180 hours of classroom instruction in a well-defined curriculum.
In the Level One Aquarian Teacher training you will
✅ Gain a deep understanding of the science of Kundalini Yoga.
✅ Develop the skills to instruct Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations.
✅ Practice teaching Kundalini Yoga in a practicum setting,
✅ Participate in early morning sadhana (spiritual practice)
✅ Experience powerful transformational energy of conscious community (sangat).
COURSE CURRICULUM
Our comprehensive curriculum fully covers the fundamentals of yoga philosophy, teaching methods, anatomy and physiology, meditation and the chakras, and a teaching practicum. A variety of teaching methods are incorporated to deliver the content including lectures, classroom discussions, group work, practical skill building and use of video content.
The course is delivered over NINE weekends over 9 months that will take place BOTH IN PERSON AND ONLINE. In between the modules, participants will continue learning in 8 online study group sessions.

Teacher Training Modules
Yoga Throughout History & Kundalini Yoga Basics
Module 1: February 22-23This session covers the Origins of Yoga, its ancient roots, and key Types of Yoga. We’ll focus on Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness, and explore the Aquarian Age and its call for higher consciousness.
Sound & Mantra, Shabd Guru, Sadhana
Module 2: March 22-23In this session, we’ll explore the power of Sound & Mantra in elevating consciousness, the wisdom of the Shabd Guru as a teacher through sound, and the practice of Sadhana for daily spiritual discipline and growth.
The map - Yogic and Western anatomy
Module 3: April 26-27This session explores both Yogic and Western Anatomy, covering the chakras, ten bodies, and nadis from a yogic perspective. We’ll also dive into the nine systems of Western anatomy, including the respiratory, circulatory, and lymphatic systems, to bridge ancient wisdom with modern science.
Breathing & Living (Yogic Lifestyle and Pranayama)
Module 4: May 24-25In this session, we’ll explore Yogic Lifestyle principles for mindful living, along with Pranayama techniques to harness the power of breath for increased vitality, balance, and inner peace.
The Technology of the Times; Posture (Asana)
Module 5: June 28-29This session covers the Technology of the Times, focusing on how Posture (Asana) supports physical and mental alignment, enhances well-being, and prepares the body for deeper spiritual practice.
Mind & Meditation
Module 6: September 20-21This session explores the Mind and Meditation, including Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga, mudras for energy balance, and various types of meditation. We’ll delve into how these practices enhance mental clarity, focus, and inner peace.
Roles and Responsibilities of a Teacher
Module 7: October 25-26This session explores the Roles and Responsibilities of a Teacher, both in and out of the classroom. We’ll discuss the importance of embodying integrity, leading by example, and fostering a supportive environment for students’ growth and transformation.
Humanology
Module 8: November 22-23This session explores Humanology, focusing on the balance of masculine and feminine polarities, conscious pregnancy, sacred union, and the deeper role of sexual energy in fostering harmony and spiritual growth.
Yogic Philosophy, Death & Dying
Module 9: December 6-7This session examines Yogic Philosophy on Death & Dying, exploring how ancient teachings address the transition from life to afterlife, and offer perspectives on living a conscious, purposeful life in preparation for this profound journey.
Study Group Sessions
9 sessions of 1.5 hours each to be attended ONLINE in between the modules that take place during the week.
The schedule for Study Group Sessions will be released after module 1.

What are the enrolment requirements ?
We want applicants to have experienced a minimum of 5 LIVE Kundalini Yoga classes with a certified Level One Kundalini Yoga Teacher prior to attending the program so that you are familiar with some of the basics of Kundalini Yoga before starting the Level One Teacher Training.
If you are unable to attend 5 LIVE classes with a trained Teacher, complete 5 online KRI-certified classes before the program begins in February 2024 and submit a short journal to record your experience at the end of each class, noting the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual changes.
You are required to complete all of the course curriculum that is covered during the program. Our expectation is that you attend 80% of the online study group sessions and the nine weekends modules (18 days).
A positive attitude, a sense of openness and a desire to learn are truly the most important things you can bring to this training.

LOCATION
Where will this training be held?
This training will be held in a private residence on the Central Coast in Ettalong Beach. The facilities include a beautiful garden for all practices. Accommodation overnight can be arranged. Please ask us!

NEW COMERS
I don’t have much experience or knowledge about Kundalini yoga. Can I participate in Teacher Training?
Yes, you can still join the training providing that you have completed at least 5 Kundalini Yoga classes prior to the start of the training. These classes can be completed online.
How do I know if I am ready to start?
The course starts with all the basics you need to know as both a student and a teacher. The only requirement is for you to commit to yourself and to do a daily practice.
What happens if I miss a module?
You can miss a maximum of 2 modules. You will be required to watch zoom recordings and complete make up assignments to make up for the days of absence.
What sort of certification will I receive upon completing the program
By completing the entire training program, you obtain a 220-hour certificate from the Kundalini Research Institute which is accredited by Yoga Alliance International.
What if I want to become certified as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher?
You are required all 180 classroom hours and complete all the certification requirements in order to become certified as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher.
Are books included in the cost of the training?
If you are paying in full for the course, the books are included. If you are paying per module, the books are not included. They are at a cost of AUD $125 .
Will this program be conducted in English?
Yes, the training will be conducted in English.
